Overview
Google Gemini met the Iowa State Fair through an immersive brand experience created by MKG, bringing Google’s AI technology to one of the country’s most iconic fair environments in Des Moines, Iowa.
Creative Olsen was brought on to document the activation through photography and video, capturing the experience, energy, and interactions of fairgoers throughout the day.
With speed playing a major role in the project, our team worked on-site in Des Moines to capture, edit, and deliver content while the activation was still happening. Deliverables included same-day photography, a 30-second social sizzle edited and delivered that day, and a priority 60-second 16:9 highlight video.
The result was a collection of energetic, polished content that gave MKG and Google the ability to share the experience quickly while still capturing the scale, personality, and atmosphere of the activation at the Iowa State Fair.
Creative Direction
With an activation this dynamic, our approach focused on capturing the energy of the overall experience while staying intentional about the moments that mattered most to the client. Creative Olsen worked throughout the event to document fairgoer interactions, key details of the Google Gemini experience, and the atmosphere of the Iowa State Fair.
The activation also welcomed VIP guests, creating an additional layer of priority coverage. Our team worked to capture dedicated photo and video assets of those visits while keeping the content natural and connected to the larger experience. This gave the client a strong mix of activation coverage, authentic interactions, and VIP-focused assets ready for immediate and future use.
Results
The final delivery included more than 280 professionally captured and edited images alongside two video deliverables highlighting the Google Gemini experience at the Iowa State Fair.
Speed was a key part of the production. Creative Olsen delivered an initial selection of photography the same day, along with a fully edited 30-second social sizzle ready for immediate use. A priority 60-second highlight video followed, giving the client a broader look at the activation, VIP appearances, and energy surrounding the experience.
The combination of high-volume coverage and rapid turnaround gave the client a library of polished assets they could begin using while the activation was still happening.
